Behaviour Support
NDIS Behaviour Support, also known as Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), is a specialised service designed to improve quality of life, increase independence, and reduce behaviours of concern through evidence-based and person-centred strategies.
At Birds of a Feather, our experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners provide NDIS Behaviour Support services across Lismore and Northern NSW. We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, and support teams to understand the underlying reasons for behaviour and develop practical strategies that build skills, enhance wellbeing, and promote meaningful participation in everyday life.
Behaviour Support may assist individuals experiencing challenges such as emotional regulation difficulties, aggression, self-injury, property damage, absconding, or behaviours that impact safety and community participation. Our approach focuses on strengths, capacity building, and improving quality of life while upholding each person's rights, dignity, and goals.
Where restrictive practices are in place, our practitioners support their safe and lawful use while working towards their reduction and elimination wherever possible.
Behaviour Support is provided under a participant’s Capacity Building - Improved Relationships funding.
